At The Social House, we've created a hotel that goes beyond being just a hotel; it's a collection of authentic, intriguing, and evolving living spaces that truly capture the essence of Nairobi's vibrant spirit.
Running a project at this level has it’s challenges in Africa but our passion as well as the incredible story behind this project was a great driving force for us at Areen. Tomorrow, you'll hear about the challenges and successes that have shaped this exceptional hotel.
Limited Access to Resources, Cultural Sensitivity, Infrastructure Challenges lack of access to sustainable materials and some Economic constraints have all created a significant challenge for hospitality interior design in Africa. This made it difficult for us to achieve the desired outcome within budget constraints, so we had to come up with solutions to overcome each challenge during the process.
As an example, our designers took time to understand the local customs and traditions of the area, and incorporated design elements that reflect and respect these cultural nuances.
We also partnered with local artists and craftspeople to incorporate authentic and culturally relevant elements into our designs, creating a unique and memorable guest experience.by using locally sourced and recycled materials, implementing energy-efficient systems, and reducing waste has helped us tackling the sustainability challenge and adapting our design vision with economic reality, and ensuring that we create exceptional interiors that meet our clients' budget requirements by being creative with our designs has supported us to overcome the economic constraints and keep the project within budget.
We were honoured to have The Social House winning multiple design awards and specially being recognised as Nat Geo's Best New Urban Hotel globally! This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion we had for this this project, as well as it’s incredible narrative.
We can't wait for industry leaders to experience the blend of industrial accents inspired by urban Nairobi life and the warmth and richness influenced by Nairobi's natural environment.
